the place where children play

home in nz..this place reminds me of childhood...the days when we were all innocent and naive, running riot in the quiet streets, eating 'mouse traps' and spending our nights thinking up excuses to stay up a minute past our bed time..the innocence lost is found in other places, as i now explore a new dimension of this beautiful world..home.

goodnight america...

good morning new zealand...

stopping off up north to catch up with my awsome girl Rachel...off for our first run together in 1 1/2 years..tempo pace, nothing changes...

 driving to the mount...

 Mt Maunganui

a quick stop at Rachels farm so Bron could see the cows...pretty sure that calf is checking you out there Bron!

reunited with my niggles in Hamilton...introducing Rach to Rumplemints..imported from America..

finally, 5 days after leaving chilly Tulsa, im home..back to where my childhood resided...

NZ..possibly one of the most gorgeous places in the world..time to soak it up..

bend in the wind

growth: its a process we all endure, but one which only some of us succeed at.
each day we grow some more but it is only those who realize their growth that will truly benefit.

as if a wild flower in bloom..take to the fields, plant your seeds and spread your roots

be who you are and don't forever stay rigid to the wind

"With each gift that you share
You may heal and repair
With each choice you make
You may help someone's day
Well I know you are strong
May your journey be long
And now I wish you the best of luck"

baking with katie

katie has finally got a degree and is now done with school..with only 6 days left with this amazing girl I've taken to stalking her at all hours of the day to soak up all her unique and wonderful attributes..

the cold weather calls for soup making..and what better way to enjoy a good bowl of minestrone than round the table with your favourite people..!?this is one tactic to get katie to sit still long enough so we can all stare and admire her..

i spent my sunday afternoon baking foccacia bread with the purpose of winning katie over

kneading in process..

family dining

katie has a bit of a sweet tooth so in order to please her we had to make brownie for after...the lengths we would go to for this girl :)

can't wait to spend the next 6 days hanging out with her
xx

a song liked by all 5..hope you enjoy too

trance of thought

its that time of year when all you see upon the leaf stricken grounds of campus are squirrels and the occasional sole wanderer off to find their quiet spot to study..
with the cold weather creeping in and exams lurking in the future days..we are left to snuggle amongst blankets and laze around in the warmth of the indoors..trying to use those brain cells which have hopefully lasted the semester.

after a break away on the coast with past friends (jamo).. replenishing the body with goodies was necessary to get the brain ready for the last week of school...

hangover cure of choice..kombucha tea, wheat-grass smoothie and a bowl of yogurt

topped off with chia seeds, blueberries, granola and honey..num num

me and katie hit up the library..most necessary accessory: double shot coffee

a little treat for this week, we escaped to cheery st cafe to study and were lucky to catch live music

a quiet spot in the back room..lots of books to keep us occupied and some yummy hot chocolate!

another day and another trip to the library..breaky in a jar to keep the brain waves flowing

an essential ingredient, introduced to me by katie, is the 'runners food': chia seeds...these little beauties are thought to increase endurance..building muscle and tissue and helping us retain moisture, thus regulating more efficiently the bodies absorption of nutrients and body fluids..a lot of benefits for a little seed.

time to knuckle down and put on some chill beats...

Palabras de Gibran y Playas de Tijuana

forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair...

for the breath of life is in the sunlight and the hand of life is in the wind...
