stopped on my run this morning to watch boys saturday morning rugby...playing in the pouring rain and mud. instant trip highlight. i miss those good old days of saturday morning sport (always followed by a mince pie and red licorice..maybe thats why i like it so much..?)

perfect last day

oi a very belated happy valentines to all! i hope you got spoilt, treated with many treats and shared the love around. everyone deserves to be loved and to know it, yes, we all need to be told EVERY day :)

my valentines was my last day in america..i am now away with the fairies in a cold, wet, beautiful mountain wilderness! time for some relaxation, exploring and hanging out with my very own lana lacey (sorry ty!)
the updates will come in rapid fire once i am back where i belong, until then i shall try to save my camera battery..failed to bring the charger..and leave you anticipating the beauty i shall bring you oh so soon of this little vacation..

i kind of celebrated valentines twice..two different days..sneaky..greedy..i know, buuut you only live once..so why not celebrate every day!!??

i won't bore you with the details, lets just say it was perfect ;)

im not lost at sea...maybe just a sea of beer

iv just been super busy working and hanging out with our new little baby...
its also a kiwi, its also very very awsome and its also living with us right here in OB...

winter in san diego?

what in the world san diego!? we woke up this morning at 7.30am..it felt like it was 6am..because it was dark..all due to the clouds and rain that has settled in. just in time for the weekend. booooo!

this week has been a big mile stone on the rehabilitation front..finally back to jogging, pretty much pain free, and feeling myself again! 

morning jog in the cold rain..hat, gloves and jacket...a first in san diego for me!

i guess i can put up with a couple of days rain knowing i get to see this again! 

the most unfortunate thing about the timing of this rain is the Carlsbad Marathon is tomorrow, where i will be supporting the jeans for justice crew as they take to the streets after months of training. hoping i dont get too drenched..but if i do it'll all be for a good cause :)

brewing

im brewing a cup of tea at the moment, its smoko time here! Despite still not having a job, somehow i manage to be doing TERRIBLE at posting lately (no idea where my days go!)..i have a sneaky feeling that i'm spending much to much time doing laundry and cooking..but thats why the girls got me my new apron, so im just making sure i use it as a sign of appreciation of the awsome gift. honest.

last week the downtown Bare Back Grill crew went on a brewery tour..and i jumped on board..and very glad i did. we had a blast and i also got to see some cool parts of Green Flash Brewery that i otherwise would never have seen!

me and pj arrived a little late and missed the tour at Ballast Point Brewery..but their beer was good :)

next stop for the bus was Green Flash Brewery..this time we made the tour..

safety first. always. 

i think this is why i liked Green Flash beers so much..

back on the bus..we missed the last brewery, probably a good thing...tempers were brewing.

recently nz has finally gotten on the bandwagon with Bare Back Grill and are paying tribute to the awsome job the guys are doing out here of representing nz in san diego!

here's an article in the marlborough express recently that talks about the new restaurant opening..JUST down the street from our pad in OB. super excited.

oi hey there sunday, wanna come have some fun!?

this weekend was filled with adventures! saturday i ventured to the track at UCSD, via a completely round about route..thanks gps..for nothing. i met some athletes out here and watched them do their workout (think im nearly ready to get back in the game, my fire has been re-kindled!)
after acai bowls at the local hang out, we headed to a pub-crawl in PB for a jeans for justice fundraiser, where champagne was dunken, beers skulled and raffles won :)

after a 30minute power nap, we then got ready and headed downtown for dinner then some dancing and partying for a friends birthday. lets just say it was quite the adventurous day. surely sunday would need to be a lazy day at home right!?

na none of that. sunday is always up for some fun. we left early afternoon for Newport Beach with friends to ride on a boat, drink champagne (the drink of choice this weekend) and check out the Newport sunset. by boat i mean limousine, on the water. just a tad awsome.

we docked at a couple of bars, introduced everyone to scotty, purchased some frozen banana, then returned to the boat

a great adventure packed weekend in california, hope you all had a great one too!

half way point

a new year and new resolutions..

be healthier in mind and body..look after the one thing that i can't replace. myself. 

thank god for farmers markets and fresh produce making these little goals all that more achievable.

thank god it falls on a wednesday, bringing with it the half way point to the weekend.
thank god it falls just as the sun is falling, getting the best of both sunshine and beautiful night time glow.

thank god for family. without that i would be no-where near here right now.
